Almost a year ago, the global financial system faced a near death experience. The front page of newspaper filled with stories and rumors about layoffs, bank collapse, government bailout and nationalization. As worry grew, consumers and businesses responded to the fear by curtailing their spending. The economy came to a halt. In early March 2009, series of unprecedented government and corporate actions began to ease the market panic. As we stand today, the global financial system regained its footings.
